Couldn't be more satisfied. Steve at Storyco built storage shelves that spanned the length and back wall of my garage, as well as a workbench. Everything was secure and stable. Who you're hiring
We started Story Co. because every home has a story to tell, and we wanted to help Central Oregon homeowners write their next chapter.
Steve leads each project's construction management and field execution. Before Story Co., he spent over a decade in marketing technology leadership, and he brings that same systems thinking to how a job gets planned and run.
Erica leads design direction and client coordination. She's also a painter, and creates custom commissioned artwork that adds a personal touch to the spaces we build.
We're a husband-and-wife team based in Bend. We're not contractors who hand off to a designer, and we're not designers who hand off to a builder. We're both, working as one team, which means fewer disconnects, clearer communication, and a finished space where the details actually work together.
Steve holds Oregon CCB license #256978, is bonded and insured, and is an active member of the Central Oregon Builders Association. We serve Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and Sunriver.

- What is design-build and how is it different from traditional contracting?
- Design-build means we provide both interior design and construction under one team. Steve handles construction management while Erica manages design direction, so you're not relaying messages between a separate designer and builder. That means better communication, faster timelines, and a finished space where the details actually work together.
- How far out are you booking projects?

- We work on projects of all sizes, from small handyman repairs to full home renovations. Contact us to discuss your project, we're happy to talk through work of any scale.
- Do you offer custom furniture or artwork?
- Yes. Steve builds modern outdoor furniture from reclaimed and exotic woods. Erica creates commissioned original paintings and artwork to complement interior design projects. These can be standalone or part of a renovation.
- How long does a whole home renovation take?
- Whole home renovations typically take 3 to 6 months depending on scope, including structural updates, layout changes, and design integration. We provide a detailed timeline during the proposal phase.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- We accept cash, check, credit card, and bank transfer. Payment schedules are outlined in our contracts and typically follow project milestones.
